While Travis Kelce made an appearance at the 2025 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, Taylor Swift was noticeably absent. This has raised questions about her absence, especially since the couple has been seen traveling together frequently in recent weeks.
Taylor Swift skips Cannes Lions as Travis Kelce attends
Taylor Swift did not attend the 2025 Cannes Lions, despite her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, appearing at the event alongside his brother, Jason Kelce. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end participated in a live panel on the Amazon Port stage. The brothers discussed their hit podcast New Heights. Although Swift and Kelce have often been seen traveling together during breaks from their busy schedules, there was no sign of Swift at the festival.
This isn’t the first time Swift has skipped the festival while Kelce appeared. During last year’s Cannes Lions, she was also absent despite having a break between shows on her Eras Tour. Marketing executive and former journalist Caroline McCarthy previously noted on X that event organizers had been informed of Swift’s non-attendance. According to her, Kelce was explicitly asked not to bring Swift along. This is because her presence would require overwhelming levels of security that the city could not accommodate.
Security concerns may have once again played a role in her decision not to join Kelce this year. Adding to that, a source speaking to Us Weekly on June 4 shared that the couple is deliberately choosing to limit their joint public appearances. A source explained, “They are making fewer public appearances together because [their relationship] brings too much unwanted attention, but there isn’t trouble in paradise.”
However, despite a greater focus on privacy, Swift and Kelce have made several public appearances recently. On June 12, they were seen attending Game 4 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final in Sunrise, Florida. Just one day later, Swift made a surprise visit to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, Florida. There, she spent nearly four hours with young patients.
