Suits LA is now seven episodes in, but fans are wondering if the series will get canceled before it gets picked up for Season 2. This is because the series has generated lukewarm reactions since its premiere, struggling to match the ratings enjoyed by its parent series, Suits. Aaron Korsh, who helmed the original series and its short-lived spin-off Pearson, developed Suits LA.
So, will NBC pull the plug on Suits LA, before Season 2 comes to fruition? Here is what we know.
Will Suits LA Season 2 get canceled by NBC?
Suits LA Season 2 may not be canceled by NBC, as suggested by a new report.
According to a new Deadline report, NBC is considering renewing the Stephen Amell-led legal drama for a second season as it’s a high-profile IP for the network. The outlet further reasoned that the network spent a lot of money on the show’s marketing, also mentioning how NBC gave the show extra exposure on Thursday.
On March 27, NBC released a three-episode marathon for the series between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET. This marathon included a back-to-back rerun of Episodes 3, 4, and 5. The marathon was preceded by Episode 5’s release on March 23.
Moreover, Deadline also mentioned recent “rating upticks,” one of them being related to the guest appearance of original Suits protagonist Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht). As such, NBC seems to be willing to give Suits LA some breathing room to evolve via a renewal.
Ultimately, it remains to be seen whether Suits LA will get a Season 2 renewal. This is because there is no official word on it from NBC. Suits LA, which airs new episodes every Sunday, currently has a 39% critic score and 52% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Besides Stephen Amell, Suits LA also stars Lex Scott Davis, Josh McDermitt, Bryan Greenberg, Troy Winbush, and Rachelle Goulding.
