Vicky Kaushal’s upcoming film, Bad Newz, has been making headlines for its unique plot, fresh on-screen pairing and the song, ‘Tauba Tauba,’ going viral. Slated to hit the silver screen on July 19, 2024, it also stars Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk in pivotal roles. With the release date inching closer, here’s everything you need to know about the romantic-comedy.
What is Vicky Kaushal & Triptii Dimri’s Bad Newz release date?
Bad Newz is directed by Anand Tiwari and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The film promises a comedic take on parenthood, much like its predecessor, the 2019 hit, Good Newwz.
The upcoming movie follows Triptii Dimri’s character, who finds herself in a unique predicament: she’s pregnant but unsure of who the father is. The potential fathers, played by Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk, are two individuals with opposite personalities. Vicky’s character, Akhil Chaddha, is a loud Punjabi, while Ammy’s character is more reserved.
Encouraged by her best friend, played by Neha Dhupia, Triptii’s character decides to have both men take a paternity test. The twist in the story reveals that both men are the father of her baby. This is due to a rare medical condition known as ‘Heteropaternal Superfecundation.’ It means that two ova were fertilized by different partners during the same menstrual cycle.
Apart from Kaushal, Dimri, Virk, and Dhupia, the film might also feature Ananya Panday in a cameo appaerance. The music album, with hits like ‘Tauba Tauba’, ‘Jaanam’, and ‘Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam, has attracted significant attention. Moreover, the movie has reportedly received a UA rating from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Furthermore, Bad Newz’s runtime is 142 minutes, i.e., 2 hours and 22 minutes.
Additionally, following its theatrical run, Bad Newz will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. While the official OTT release date is yet to be announced, fans can look forward to watching the film online after its stint on the silver screen.
All in all, with its release just around the corner, fans are eagerly awaiting to enjoy the comedy in theatres. Stay tuned for more updates.
