Vegapunk says the Poneglyphs are historical records about a great battle that occurred during the Void Century. During that time, Joy Boy’s enemy was the current World Government. Elsewhere, some of the Gorosei (Five Elders) continue eliminating enemies.
Vegapunk also talks about how weapons from Joy Boy’s time can’t be copied with today’s technology. The Straw Hats remain on the run, while Nusjuro targets Bonney. According to Vegapunk, the Void Century was over following Joy Boy’s defeat. He adds that the existing continents from 1,000 years ago sank to the bottom of the ocean after the sea levels went up by 200 meters.
