What are the Lunarians in One Piece? If you’ve reached the Wano arc, then you might’ve encountered Queen mentioning this race already. Here is a guide on the Lunarian race in One Piece.
What is a Lunarian in One Piece?
Lunarian refers to a race of people who can create and manipulate fire from their bodies. They come from the top of the Red Line and were known as a tribe of “gods.” They resemble regular humans, although they have large black wings on their backs. Their skin color is brown and their hair color is silver or white.
They are a very powerful race. Aside from having the ability to create fire from their bodies, they can also manipulate the fire to make projectile attacks. Their bodies are highly resilient and durable, which means they are capable of surviving in any natural environment.
King is the only Lunarian we know so far in the story.
However, as seen with King, their race isn’t as strong when the fire on their back is out. When there’s no fire on their back, their defense is lower but they gain more speed. We’re currently unaware of other details on how the fire on their back works.
Is Sanji a Lunarian?
While Sanji can produce flames with his body, it’s unlikely that he’s a Lunarian.
Sanji’s father, Judge, experimented on him and his siblings using genetic enhancements. This is because he wanted them to lead Germa’s military in the future, so he put them through rigorous training. Sanji’s siblings became superhumans, though Sanji wouldn’t get the same abilities until the Wano arc. It’s possible that Judge’s experiments on them affected Sanji later.
Are the Lunarians extinct?
It is believed that the Lunarians are extinct and King is the remaining survivor.
The World Government used to experiment on King at Punk Hazard to test his endurance and durability.
While the Seraphim possess some Lunarian traits, they were artificially created using King’s Lineage Factor. So they’re not exactly natural Lunarians.
