As of early April 2024, Studio Liber hasn’t announced any plans for renewing Bartender Glass of God for the sophomore season. This is not unusual as the first season just premiered, and the animation studio and its partners will likely assess its performance with the domestic and international audience before deciding on the future of the series. This is not the first time Joh and Nagatomo’s manga has been adapted into the anime format. Bartender has 11 episodes that originally aired in Japan between October 15, 2006, and December 31, 2006. A live-action adaptation also aired for eight episodes on TV Asahi in 2011.
The manga has 21 volumes and two spin-offs: Bartender à Paris and Bartender à Tokyo. It’s unlikely that the new anime will cover all of the source material in its first season. So, if the audience reaction is positive, season 2 will likely happen.
