The end credits of Hamu-Man hint toward a prospective sequel. In January 2024, Prasanth Varma revealed that Lord Hanuman would be the focus of the narrative in the sequel.
“It was very difficult to find an actor who could suit Hanuman’s face and image, so we did not show him in our movie. But we will show him in the sequels,” the filmmakers said.
“In the second film, you will see more of Hanuman on screen. He will be the lead in that,” Varma added. “Teja Sajja’s character will also be there but the story is about the promise Hanuman made to Lord Ram. We have actually written the story for Jai Hanuman the sequel already. We focused more on the Jai Hanuman storyline than Hanu-Man’s story. There were no plans to add a cliffhanger initially but we decided to tease it in the first part just a few months before the release.”
Previously, Varma spoke about developing a superhero franchise based on Hindu stories and epics. He took to X (formerly known as Twitter) in January 2024 to announce that the pre-production for Jai HanuMan would begin on the day of the Ram temple inauguration in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
According to some reports published in the same month, RRR’s Ram Charan was slated to audition for the role of Lord Ram. If filming begins later this year, Jai HanuMan can potentially debut in 2025 at the earliest.
