Bad Boys: Ride or Die

Bad Boys 4 Rating: Is Ride or Die Rated-R or PG-13?

With the Bad Boys 4 trailer out, people are wondering whether Ride or Die will be rated R or PG-13. Here’s what you need to know about its potential rating and the reason behind it.

Is Bad Boys 4: Ride or Die rated R or PG-13?

Bad Boys: Ride or Die will likely be rated R like the previous films in the franchise.

The movie is yet to be officially rated. However, with the F-bombs, language, and violence showcased in the trailer, it’ll likely be rated R by the Motion Picture Association.

This has been the norm for the whole franchise and Ride or Die will presumably continue the trend. The official rating for the film should be revealed once we get closer to its June 7, 2024 release date.

Why is Bad Boys: Ride or Die rated R?

Bad Boys: Ride or Die will likely be rated R due to its strong violence and language among other things.

Bad Boys For Life was rated R by the MPA for “strong bloody violence, language throughout, sexual references, and brief drug use.” The first one also had “intense violent action” and “strong language,” while the second film added to that with “sexuality and drug content.”

Looking at the trailer for Ride or Die, it will likely get an R rating for similar reasons.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die brings back Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as Mike Lowery and Marcus Burnett, respectively. It is also confirmed to star Vanessa Hudgens as Kelly, Alexander Ludwig as Dorn, Paola Nuñez as Rita, Ioan Gruffudd as Lockwood, and Jacob Scipio as Armando Armas, among others.

The official synopsis of the movie reads:

“After their late former Captain is framed, Lowrey and Burnett try to clear his name, only to end up on the run themselves.”
