Immaculate Post Credits: Does It Have an End-Credits Scene?

Fans are wondering if Sydney Sweeney‘s new movie Immaculate has an end-credits scene or not. Here is your answer, but be wary of spoilers.

Does Immaculate have a post-credits or end-credits scene?

No, Immaculate does not have a post-credits scene.

Sydney Sweeney’s new psychological horror movie does not have a post-credits scene. Given that the film is an independent/standalone project, with a deep focus on its story and not hinting at a larger universe or future sequels, there is no need for a post-credits scene.

However, the film does end in a manner that leaves room for a possible sequel.

The ending of Immaculate sees Sydney Sweeney’s pregnant Cecilia give birth to a baby after escaping the catacombs under the convent where she practiced. She narrowly evades the attempt on her life by Father Tedeschi, stabbing him with his scalpel. After giving birth to her baby, she bites the umbilical cord herself and prepares to kill the baby by smashing it with a rock.

The film fades to black and ends as Cecilia attempts to kill the baby, creating an open-ended conclusion. The ending allows speculation as to whether the baby was killed or whether Cecilia chose to spare its life at the last second. This ending will remain open-ended unless it is followed up with a sequel.

Apart from Sydney Sweeney, Immaculate also stars Alvaro Morte, Benedetta Porcaroli, Dora Romano, Giorgio Colangeli, and Simona Tobasco. The film is directed by Michael Mohan and written by Andrew Lobel.

The official synopsis, as per Neon, reads:

“Cecilia (Sweeney), an American nun of devout faith, embarks on a new journey in a remote convent in the picturesque Italian countryside. Her warm welcome quickly devolves into a nightmare as it becomes clear her new home harbors a sinister secret and unspeakable horrors.”
