No. Sigourney Weaver is not in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.
Unfortunately, Sigourney Weaver does not reprise her role as Dana Barrett from the first two Ghostbusters films in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.
Weaver previously said in a 2023 Collider interview that she would not be back for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. She explicitly stated that she was not asked to be in the new film.
“No, I mean, I wasn’t asked to be in this Ghostbusters,” Weaver stated. “And I think, you know, a little of us goes a long way.”
It is quite surprising Weaver did not reprise her role of Barrett in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. After all, she did make a cameo appearance in the mid-credits scene of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which revealed that she and Bill Murray’s Peter Venkman were married.
The film will see Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, and McKenna Grace return. They will reprise their roles of Gary Grooberson, Callie Spengler, Trevor Spengler, and Phoebe Spengler from Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Furthermore, they will be joined by five members of the original cast: Bill Murray’s Peter Venkman, Ernie Hudson’s Winston Zeddemore, Dan Aykroyd’s Ray Stantz, Annie Potts’ Janine Melnitz, and William Atherton’s Walter Peck.
The official synopsis, per Sony Pictures UK, reads:
“In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.”
