Oppenheimer has 13 Oscar nominations. Out of these nominations, Oppenheimer has a very strong chance of winning under the following categories:

- Best Actor – Cillian Murphy

These categories are also reflected under The Hollywood Reporter’s Ben Zauzmer’s mathematical model where Oppenheimer led all the aforementioned categories with a significantly high percentage.
Out of all these nominations, three strike out, that being Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor. Oppenheimer has a very good chance of winning Best Picture as it has already won the categories of Best Picture and Best Film at various awards shows such as the Astra Film and Creative Awards and the British Academy Film Awards.
Cillian Murphy no doubt has a very high chance of winning Best Actor as he has already taken home the Golden Globe and BAFTA awards in the same category.
Robert Downey Jr. also has a very strong chance of winning an Oscar for his nuanced performance as Lewis Strauss. Similarly to Murphy, Robert Downey Jr. has also taken home multiple awards already for his performance in the film, such as the Golden Globe and BAFTA awards. Moreover, according to Zauzmer’s math model, Robert Downey Jr. has a 91 percent chance of winning the Oscar.
