Is McDonald’s getting an anime?
It looks like McDonald’s is getting an anime series of some sort.
The official X (formerly Twitter) account of McDonald’s posted a teaser trailer and tagged Studio Pierrot in it. The teaser trailer shows a variety of anime characters who appear to have special abilities. There are hints of fighting scenes, along with some scenes where they eat McDonald’s. It seems the upcoming anime has shonen vibes and perhaps even isekai.

According to the trailer, it appears the upcoming project will be a special event that will happen at participating McDonald’s stores for a limited time. The trailer says the special event will start on Monday, February 26.
It appears the McDonald’s and Studio Pierrot anime is about another universe where the fast-food chain is called WcDonald’s. Based on a new post from McDonald’s, it’s possible that the collab might come with a new McNuggets sauce flavor.
As of writing, McDonald’s has not revealed further information about the collaboration. We could be getting an actual anime series with long episodes or more of a mini-series with short-length episodes. There may also be special merchandise, toys, and meals that come with this collab.
This is not the first time McDonald’s has done something anime-related. McDonald’s Japan has released ads that were done in the style of anime. However, it seems like this is the first time this kind of collaboration is coming to McDonald’s outside of Japan.
