Fans of Drake and Taylor Swift have once again been made to wonder about their friendship. Is Drake friends with the Bad Blood singer or does he hate her? Here’s all you need to know.
Is Drake a Taylor Swift fan?
While Drake may not technically be counted as a “Swiftie”, he has shown respect and support for her in the past.
Drake’s 2023 song “Red Button” featured lyrics where he showed a lot of respect for Swift. He explained in the song that Taylor Swift may be the only one whom he’d avoid competing with. The lyrics state:
“Taylor Swift the only n—- that I ever rated
Only one could make me drop the album just a little later
Rest of y’all, I treat you like you never made it.”
The rapper acknowledges Swift to be a major powerhouse and being inspired by her, he even bet $1.15 million on the Kansas City Chiefs at the Super Bowl.
He took to Instagram to share a screenshot of his winning takeout with a caption, “I can’t bet against the swifties @stake”. So, he certainly seems to be a supporter of Taylor Swift. But his friendship with Swift has been called into question.
Is Drake a Taylor Swift hater?
A recent TikTok from Drake’s supposed account states that the rapper is allegedly a Taylor Swift hater. But that may not be the case.
The TikTok post shows Drake’s images quoting “I accept who I am”… “Who are you?”… “a Taylor Swift Hater.” The video collage comes from the verified account, “sollymcleodofficial” with Drake’s name and photo. So the question that arises is, is this Drake’s official TikTok account, or is someone posing as him?
Since the account is verified, is it possible that Drake’s account was hacked by someone? But if we look at the number of followers, it’s just 476.6k. Considering that Drake has over 145 million followers on Instagram, it’s likely that the number of people following him on TikTok would have been way more than just 476.6k.
So, Drake may not be a Taylor Swift hater as the above account doesn’t seem to technically belong to him. “sollymcleodofficial” could just be a fan performing a publicity stunt.
