Joker 2 Trailer: Is It Real or Fake? Is There a Release Date?

A new Joker 2 trailer has seemingly dropped and fans are wondering about the legitimacy of the trailer. Is the trailer real or fake? Is there a release date for Joker: Folie a Deux’s trailer? Here are your answers.

Is the new Joker 2 trailer real or fake?

The new Joker 2 trailer is fake.

The Joker 2 trailer that hit the web just one day ago is unfortunately fake. The trailer doesn’t seem to feature new clips but rather is a compilation of old clips. In particular, many of the shots in the trailer are from the first Joker film but they appear to have been recolored.

Moreover, the voiceover narration by Lady Gaga (if one listens closely) in the trailer, is allegedly AI-generated. Furthermore, some of the clips in the trailer are from Gaga’s other film, A Star is Born. It seems like official images from Joker: Folie a Deux’s production have been used but to give them a lifelike or video-esque look, an AI software could have been used.

The fake trailer was uploaded by the YouTube channel, Screen Culture. Screen Culture is notorious for making fake or concept trailers for movies or shows that have either not been announced, just announced, not in active development, or have not yet released their first official trailers.

Is there a Joker 2 trailer release date?

There is currently no release date for Joker 2’s first trailer.

However, since Joker 2 is currently slated to release on October 4, 2024, an official trailer is likely to arrive a month before the film’s premiere. Customarily, an official teaser usually drops three to four months before the premiere, and the official trailer hits a month before the release.

Joker 2 will star Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga in the lead roles of Joker and Harley Quinn, respectively, alongside a supporting cast that includes Zazie Beetz, Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, Steve Coogan, Harry Lawtey, and Ken Leung.
