Who is Paradox in Deadpool & Wolverine?
Paradox is a TVA (Time Variance Authority) agent in Deadpool & Wolverine.
In Deadpool & Wolverine, Paradox (played by Succession’s Matthew Macfadyen) is a TVA agent who will serve as Deadpool’s liaison within the TVA, similar to Owen Wilson’s Mobius serving as a liaison to Loki in the latter’s Disney Plus series.
The extent of Paradox’s role in Deadpool & Wolverine currently remains unclear. From what is shown in the teaser, however, Paradox is offering Wade, whom he believes to be special, the chance to take his place amongst the greatest heroes of the MCU, which includes the Avengers.
Contrary to his seemingly big presence in Deadpool & Wolverine, Paradox is a pretty minor character in Marvel Comics. He first appeared in She-Hulk Vol 2. #3 where he nearly erases Jennifer Walters from history for trying to warn Hawkeye about his impending death and altering the time stream in the process. However, he eventually meets his demise at the hands of a minor villain named Clockwise.
Why isn’t Mobius in Deadpool & Wolverine?
It is not confirmed whether Mobius is in Deadpool & Wolverine or not. He was simply not shown in the teaser, thus creating the possibility of a surprise appearance from him.
However, Mobius has been heavily rumored by fans in the past year to be making an appearance in the film due to its previously rumored, but now confirmed, TVA connections. Reputed industry insider Jeff Sneider also previously reported on his appearance as well in The Hot Mic podcast with John Rocha in March 2023. As such, fans could expect at least a cameo appearance from him.
