Will Zeus Return Percy Jackson Season 2 Lance Reddick replacement actor

Will Zeus Return in Percy Jackson Season 2? Who Could the New Actor Be?

After watching the finale, fans ask if Zeus will return in Percy Jackson Season 2. Since the late Lance Reddick played the character, people want to know if Zeus will be retired or if the character be recast. Here’s all the necessary information.

Will Zeus return in Percy Jackson season 2 and beyond?

Zeus isn’t confirmed to return in Percy Jackson Season 2 yet. He may or may not be brought back in Season 2, but could certainly play a bigger role if Percy Jackson is renewed for more seasons.

Tragically, Lance Reddick died very suddenly in 2023 but his part as Zeus was kept intact. Fans of the show are now wondering if Zeus will continue his arc in the next season, which may be based on Rick Riordan’s “The Sea of Monsters”.

Disney Plus hasn’t officially greenlit the second season of Percy Jackson. But with the streamer needing more multi-season content, the renewal will likely happen. Whether Season 2 will involve Zeus remains to be seen though.

Considering that Zeus plays a big role in Books 3 and 5, his character is unlikely to be retired in Season 2. The recasting of the character has already been confirmed by Percy Jackson showrunner, Jon Steinburg.

Readers of The Sea of Monsters would know that Zeus’ arc likely wouldn’t be huge in Season 2 and his presence could be maintained to a few lines of exposition without the need for an actual appearance. But if Disney has already recast the character or plans to do it before the potential Season 2, then we might see Zeus return in Season 2 along with future seasons.

Who will play Zeus to replace Lance Reddick?

Lance Reddick’s replacement actor hasn’t been cast at the moment. But it could be someone along the lines of David Harewood, Dennis Haysbert, or even D.B. Woodside.

Showrunner Steinburg mentioned that it would be a “tall order” to replace Lance Reddick after his powerful performance in the finale of Season 1. But Disney will soon need to recast the King of Gods.

Reddick’s powerful voice and grounded yet authoritative presence could be replicated by someone like David Harewood. The 58-year-old Martian Manhunter actor has a similar voice and has appeared in multiple TV shows playing powerful supporting characters.

Apart from Harewood, Dennis Haysbert and D.B. Woodside are tried and tested candidates as the former played God in Lucifer, and the latter was Amenadiel. So, either one of them could confidently take on the role of Zeus in Percy Jackson.
