Here’s all the Migration 2 release date information we know so far, and all the details on when it is coming out.

Is there a Migration 2 release date?

Migration 2 does not have an official release date, but it will likely be announced in the future.

As of early January 2024, Migration 2 hasn’t been officially greenlit. Since its release, the first film has garnered a 72% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and made $118.1 million at the global box office against its $72 million budget. Migration was developed by Illumination/Universal, which has a long history of producing animated franchises, including Despicable Me, The Secret Life of Pets, and Sing. Moreover, the first film ends with certain scenes that potentially set up a sequel.

Toward the end of Migration (spoilers warning for those who haven’t seen the film), the birds successfully reach Jamaica. When spring comes, the Mallard family prepares to return home to New England, when they encounter a group of penguins heading toward the South Pole. This can serve as a launchpad for the potential sequel. Considering all this, the chances of Migration 2 can’t be ruled out.

The voice cast includes Kumail Nanjiani as Mack Mallard, Elizabeth Banks as Pam Mallard, Keegan-Michael Key as Delroy, Awkwafina as Chump, Carol Kane as Erin, David Mitchell as GooGoo, Isabela Merced as Kim, Caspar Jennings as Dax Mallard, Tresi Gazal as Gwen Mallard, Danny DeVito as Uncle Dan, and more.

Where is Migration 2 coming out?

Migration 2 could come out in theaters.

This is because the first film was released in the theaters first. ComingSoon will provide an update if and when the second Migration film is officially greenlit.

The official synopsis for Migration reads:

“After a migrating duck family alights on their pond with thrilling tales of far-flung places, the Mallard family embarks on a family road trip, from New England to New York City to tropical Jamaica.”
