The plot revolves around an unnamed superspy (codenamed Twilight) who forms a pretend family with other equally secretive people. His “wife,” Yor, is an international assassin. Their “daughter,” Anya, is a telepath, whereas the family dog, Bond, can see the future. Anya is the only person who knows who the others are and what they can do.

As of early January 2024, Spy x Family has not been greenlit for the third season yet. However, given the popularity of the series, it’s likely a matter of time before that happens. Tatsuya Endo’s manga series is ongoing and currently has 12 volumes. The ending of season 2 covers about halfway into the ninth volume (chapters 58 and 59, the beginning of WISE Arc). The anime film, Spy × Family Code: White, which came out on December 22, 2023, has an original story penned by Ichirō Ōkouchi based on Endo’s manga.
Season 2 was announced at the Jump Festa 2023 event in December 2022 before season 1 finished airing. The apparent delay in the announcement for season 3 could be because only three and a half volumes remain unadapted at present. The producers may want Endo to publish a few more volumes of the source material before going ahead with season 3.
