The reports about a possible fourth Beverly Hills Cop film have been going around since the mid-90s. At different points, filmmakers such as Brett Ratner, Adil El Arbi, and Bilall Fallah were attached to the project. There were even plans for developing a TV show about Axel’s son, but that didn’t go beyond a failed pilot.
Ultimately, Netflix made a deal with Paramount Pictures, the production company behind the previous three films, to develop the fourth chapter in 2019. Director Mark Molloy came on board to helm the project in April 2022. Filming reportedly concluded by early 2023. According to Netflix’s press releases, the film will come out in summer 2024, that’s sometime between June and August.
