Will There Be a Freelance Release Date & Is It Coming Out?

The Freelance streaming release date is highly anticipated, and viewers are wondering when they can stream the film.

Released in theaters on October 27, 2023, Freelance is an action-comedy film starring John Cena and Alison Brie. Here’s when the Freelance could be coming out.

When is the predicted Freelance streaming release date?

The Freelance release date could be early 2024.

Relativity Media has the distribution rights to Freelance. The company’s first 2023 release, the mystery action thriller film Hypnotic starring Ben Affleck, debuted in US theaters on May 12, 2023, before becoming available on Peacock on September 1, 2023. If the same pattern is followed for Freelance, it could be available to stream in early 2024.

Freelance revolves around Mason Pettits, an erstwhile member of the U.S. Army Special Forces who was medically discharged after sustaining serious injuries during an unsuccessful mission to assassinate Paldonian dictator Juan Venegas. Years later, Mason is hired to serve as security for journalist Claire Wellington as she travels to interview the aforementioned dictator.

Directed by Pierre Morel, the cast for the film includes John Cena as Mason Pettits, Alison Brie as Claire Wellington, Juan Pablo Raba as President Juan Venegas, Christian Slater as Sebastian Earle, Alice Eve as Jenny Pettits, Marton Csokas as Colonel Jan Koehorst, Sebastián Eslava as Jorge Vásquez, and more.

Is Freelance coming out on Peacock?

Freelance could be available to watch via streaming on Peacock.

Previously, Relativity Media premiered The Independent, another film starring John Cena, on Peacock, and as mentioned above, Hypnotic was made available on Peacock as well after its theatrical release. So, there is a considerable possibility for Freelance to stream on the same platform.

Current Peacock subscribers will probably be able to watch the series when it airs. Peacock has multiple subscription plans available for the viewers. The Premium plan costs $5.99 a month and $59.99 a year, and the Premium Plus costs $11.99 a month and $119.99 a year.

Freelance’s official synopsis reads:

“An ex-special forces operative takes a job to provide security for a journalist as she interviews a dictator, but a military coup breaks out in the middle of the interview, they are forced to escape into the jungle where they must survive.”
