Marvel continues its long-running hunt for the Fantastic Four cast members, and Pedro Pascal is the latest out of the many names attached to Reed Richards. But is he really playing Mr. Fantastic in the MCU? Has his casting been confirmed already? Here’s all you need to know.
Is Pedro Pascal playing the new Reed Richards in Fantastic Four?
Pedro Pascal is reportedly eyed to play the new Reed Richards in MCU’s Fantastic Four movie.
With the SAG-AFTRA strike lifted, Marvel and Matt Shakman’s search for Fantastic Four’s lead continues. Now, scooper Daniel Richtman and Deadline have reported that Pedro Pascal is being eyed to play Mr. Fantastic. However, a deal is far from being done as he hasn’t signed yet.
As per many scoopers, including Richtman, Pascal has been offered the role and is close to signing it. Hollywood loves him in “Dad roles” and The Mandalorian and The Last of Us are the biggest proof of that. If he does get the role of Mr. Fantastic, he’d be taking on yet another dad role by playing the father of Franklin and Valyria if he signs on as Reed Richards.
With Fantastic Four having a release date of May 2, 2025, he will be expected to join the production in early 2024.
All rumored Fantastic Four cast members
Besides Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn are rumored to be in the running to form the first family of Marvel: The Fantastic Four.
As per another credible scooper, Jeff Sneider, Vanessa Kirby is the “widely tipped” lead as Sue Storm, while Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach are poised to play Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm, respectively. These names aren’t confirmed yet, but at least one or all of them could soon be announced.
Meanwhile, Pedro Pascal is the only one who is seemingly close to being cast after Jake Gyllenhaal, Adam Driver, and several others reportedly turned down the Reed Richards part.
