Is The Crown Season 6 The Last & Final One?

With The Crown Season 6 streaming on Netflix, fans of the long-running historic drama wish to know if it is the last season. Will there be more seasons, or is this the final one? Here’s all you need to know about The Crown’s future.

Will The Crown Season 6 be the last one?

Yes, The Crown Season 6 is the final season and its narrative will end with Season 6 Part 2.

The Crown Season 6 was confirmed to launch in two parts. The first one with four episodes was scheduled to arrive on November 16, 2023. The second, with six episodes, follows it less than a month later on December 14.

When Season 6 was renewed, it was announced with the confirmation that it would be the final chapter in the series. So, we shouldn’t expect more seasons to arrive after 2023.

The latest season picks up right where Season 5 left us. Netflix revealed in a press release that “Season 6 will continue with Princess Diana’s story, with the first four episodes exploring the events surrounding her tragic death in 1997.”

It’ll be interesting to see how Part 2 concludes the fictionalized dramatization of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign beyond that. The leading cast members involved in The Crown Season 6 are:

  • Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II
  • Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh
  • Elizabeth Debicki as Diana, Princess of Wales
  • Dominic West as Charles, Prince of Wales
  • Olivia Williams as Camilla
  • Khalid Abdalla as Dodi Fayed
  • Rufus Kampa as Prince William (part 1)
  • Ed McVey as Prince William (part 2)
  • Meg Bellamy as Kate Middleton
  • Fflyn Edwards as Prince Harry (part 1)
  • Luther Ford as teenage Prince Harry (part 2)
  • Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret
  • Claudia Harrison as Princess Anne
  • Bertie Carvel as Tony Blair
  • Salim Daw as Mohamed al-Fayed

The official synopsis of The Crown Season 6 Part 1 reads:

“Inspired by real events, this fictional dramatization tells the story of Queen Elizabeth II and the political and personal events that shaped her reign.”
