Who died at the end of Gen V Episode 7?
Dean Indira Shetty and Dr. Edison Cardosa are killed at the end of Gen V Episode 7 by Cate and Victoria Neuman, respectively.
Cate finally confronted Dean Shetty about her manipulation and used her abilities to figure out her plan. As we saw earlier in the episode, Shetty asked Dr. Cardosa to make the Supe-killing virus airborne after he successfully turned it contagious.
She wanted to take down the entire Supe-Kind after Homelander crashed the plane in The Boys Season 1, which was carrying her family members. So, Cate used her abilities to make Dean Shetty slit her own throat and didn’t allow Marie to save her either.
On the other end, Victoria Neuman contacted Dr. Cardosa after finding out about the Supe-killing virus from Marie. As he revealed that he was the only one who could replicate the virus, Neuman made him hand it over to her and blew up his head using her abilities, which were displayed in The Boys Seasons 2 and 3.
What will Victoria Neuman do with Dr. Cardosa’s virus?
Victoria Neuman could either use the virus as a backup to protect her daughter against bad Supes like Homelander, or she could give it to Stan Edgar as a way to control Supes.
Neuman is already amongst the most powerful Supes in The Boys universe. However, she still fears the likes of Homelander. So, she could use the virus to take down Homelander if he goes against her.
But since she is also loyal to Stan Edgar, being his adopted daughter, she could hand over the virus to him and allow Vought to control Supes when they go rogue. Episode 8 should give us more clarity on her goals.
What will happen in Gen V episode 8?
Gen V Episode 7 has set up a Civil War/X-Men style storyline for the finale where Supes such as Cate, Sam, and many at Godolkin will go against humans. Meanwhile, others including Marie, Andre, Jordan, and Emma will try to stop them. So, we should expect plenty of Superhero action in the finale, where Supe kids take on humans while Team Marie battles to stop them.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Season 1 finale leads us into The Boys Season 4 and Gen V Season 2.
