It is a reboot of El Internado, which originally aired from 2007 to 2010. Set in a boarding school located in a monastery, the plot revolves around a group of troubled teenagers. While trying to escape from the boarding school, they encounter mysterious figures, who take one of them away. When the faculty refuses to believe them, the remaining students decide to find out the truth on their own.

There is no The Boarding School: Las Cumbres Season 4 release date as the series seems to have ended after Season 3.
In March 2022, Amazon announced that there would be a third season of The Boarding School: Las Cumbres. It was later reported that the third season would also be the final season of the reboot series. The six-episode-long third season gave the writers the opportunity to end the series on a satisfactory note.
