In May 2023, about four months after the season 3 finale aired, ABC canceled Big Sky along with two other drama shows: Alaska Daily and The Company You Keep, likely due to decreasing viewership numbers. Before that, in January 2023, series star Katheryn Winnick posted a couple of photos with co-star Jensen Ackles. “That’s a wrap on BIG SKY 3. Hope to see you all next year,” she wrote in the caption, implying that she was hoping for another season.
