Mark Hamill, who voices Skeletor in season 1, reportedly said in May 2022 that he had been back in the studio to record more episodes. The official confirmation came the following month at Netflix’s Geeked Week event where Netflix announced that it would develop another entry in the series and released a short clip featuring a poster for the upcoming series.

In September 2023, Netflix released a teaser for Masters of the Universe: Revolution, which is set to premiere in 2024. Smith will serve as the showrunner, just like he did on Revelation, though Melissa Benoist will replace Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela. Meg Foster, who voices Evil-Lyn in the 1980s series, will join the cast as Motherboard along with Keith David as Hordak and William Shatner as an undisclosed character.
