After the resounding success of Ryoko Kui’s manga Dungeon Meshi, fans have been highly anticipating the anime adaptation of the same, Delicious in Dungeon. The manga has been in circulation in Japan since 2014 and garnered a significant fan following. The story follows a group of adventurers who will have to do everything to survive in a dark dungeon, including eating the monsters that they defeat.

Is there a Delicious in Dungeon release date?
Fans of the popular manga have another reason to rejoice. Just when they were disappointed with the manga ending after Chapter 97 in September 2023, it was made official that they would be treated to the anime adaptation sooner than later. The news was announced as part of Anime Expo 2023. Not only were fans given a glimpse into the premiere episode, but it was also revealed that Netflix would be taking it up for international distribution.
The anime-adapted series will be making its way on the streaming platform in January 2024. Netflix has been experimenting with anime for quite some time, so the fact that Delicious in Dungeon received the green light to air the anime on Netflix, shows a positive path forward for the series. Viewers can watch it early next year.
Production of the anime-adapted series will be taken up by Japanese production studio Trigger. It will be written by Kimiko Ueno and directed by Yoshihiro Miyajima. The series also has a dedicated Twitter account already!
