Ahsoka the White Explained: Why Does She Wear a White Robe & How Powerful Is She?

The latest installment of the Disney Plus series featured a transformation in Ahsoka‘s appearance, who donned a white robe. Long-term Star Wars fans have already recognized the so-called “Ahsoka the White,” an improved version of the former Jedi that can be compared to The Lord of the Rings‘ Gandalf the White. But who’s Ahsoka the White? And how powerful is she compared to the traditional Ahsoka? Here’s what you need to know.

Who’s Ahsoka the White?

Ahsoka the White is the powered-up version of Ahsoka after her journey through the World Between Worlds.

In the Disney Plus series, Ahsoka becomes Ahsoka the White after her encounter with Anakin Skywalker in the World Between Worlds, the mysterious dimension where she ended following her apparent death during her duel with Baylan Skoll. In the World Between Worlds, Anakin makes Ahsoka relive some events from the Siege of Mandalore that help her become aware she can use her skills to bring peace into the galaxy rather than use them for war. Following the transformation, her attire is replaced with a white cloak and robes matching her lightsabers’ white blades.

It’s important to note Ahsoka the White is a fan-generated term that is not officially recognized in the canon. Still, it has gained popularity among fans as a symbolic representation of Ahsoka’s journey and transformation. This concept is often associated with Ahsoka’s appearance at the end of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and her subsequent role in Star Wars Rebels (which has slightly been retconned by the live-action series).

How powerful is Ahsoka the White?

Ahsoka the White can use Psychometry.

For now, the Disney Plus show only showed Ahsoka developed a new Force power, Psychometry, that allows her to interact with the object’s history and see what happened to them and who used it, among other things. The full range of this new version of Ahsoka’s powers has yet to be explored. However, fans can expect a significant growth in the Force and wisdom for Ahsoka.

Ahsoka is currently streaming on Disney Plus. New episodes air on Tuesdays.
