Ahsoka Jacen Syndulla: Who’s Hera’s Son & Who Plays Him in Live-Action?

Ahsoka episode 3 featured the live-action debut of Jacen Syndulla, an interesting character who was part of Star Wars Rebels. Who is Jacen Syndulla? And who is portraying the live-action version of the character? Here’s what you need to know.

Who is Jacen Syndulla in Ahsoka?

Jacen is Hera Syndulla’s son.

Jacen is the son of General Hera Syndulla and the late Jedi Knight Kanan Jarrus during the Galactic Civil War. He is also the grandson of Twi’lek revolutionary leader Cham Syndulla. Much like his father, Jacen aims to become a Jedi. As seen in the Ahsoka series, he has a close bond with the droid Chopper.

Jacen was introduced in the epilogue of the series finale of Star Wars Rebels, and his first name was inspired by Jacen Solo from the Star Wars Legends continuity. As explained by Dave Filoni, the name was chosen to honor the character of Jacen Solo and his significance in the Star Wars universe.

In Star Wars Legends, Jacen Solo was the son of Princess Leia Organa and Han Solo, making him the nephew of Luke Skywalker. He starts as a compassionate and brave Jedi, but over time, his experiences and challenges lead him down a darker path, adopting the Sith name Darth Caedus and embracing the dark side of the Force.

Which actor plays Jacen Syndulla in live-action Ahsoka?

Evan Whitten portrays Jacen Syndulla in Ahsoka.

13-year-old Whitten is currently portraying the live-action version of the green-haired boy. Whitten’s credits include Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon, The Resident, and Chupa, among many other things.
