With new details revealed at Comic-Con 2023, many are left wondering about the X-Men ’97 release date on Disney Plus. It continues the story of the original X-Men: The Animated Series that ran from 1992 to 1997 for five seasons. Now 26 years later, we will see the return of Professor X’s gifted X-Men to take on a new threat. But when is the animated series coming out?

Is there an X-Men ‘97 release date?
The X-Men ‘97 release date could arrive by Fall 2023.
When the X-Men ’97 series was announced on Disney+ Day 2021, it was confirmed to arrive in 2023. Later, we got the confirmation that it was scheduled for a fall 2023 release. So, we could expect the series to arrive any time between September and November 2023.

Apart from the official release date, SDCC 2023 brought several reveals about the upcoming X-Men animated series. When asked about the development of the series, executive producer and head writer Beau DeMayo confirmed that it’s going:
“Really, really well. It’s like I said in there, we’re just in post [production] on Season 1… Literally writing the season finale for Season 2 right now. It’s going well. I could not be happier… It’s a gargantuan effort with a truly like guerilla tactic, small, but very dedicated team.”
So, not only are we getting 10 episodes in season 1, but the series is also bringing a second season which could arrive by late 2024 or sometime in 2025.
It will feature a lot of new mutants that did not appear in the 5 seasons of the original X-Men animated series. But along with them, we’ll see the return of Ray Chase to voice Scott Summers/Cyclops, Cal Dodd as James “Logan” Howlett/Wolverine, Alison Sealy-Smith as Ororo Munroe/Storm, and Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey.
