BlackBerry Streaming Release Date Rumors

The BlackBerry streaming release date is highly anticipated as it has been loved upon its theatrical and VOD releases, and viewers are wondering when they can start streaming the movie.

It leans into corporate history and tells us the story of BlackBerry’s success in developing the first smartphone, followed by its catastrophic demise in the competitive smartphone industry. So, this intriguing story, combined with some scintillating performances, is the main reason why fans are so eager to stream the film. Here’s when BlackBerry could be coming out.

When is the predicted BlackBerry streaming release date?

The BlackBerry streaming release date is unconfirmed, as the film hit theaters on May 12, 2023. However, we could expect an official streaming release in the coming months.

This comedy-drama ran exclusively in theaters for less than a month and made just $2.5 million. However, it has been a significant hit on Digital HD ever since it got its VOD release on June 2. People are therefore looking forward to a streaming release date following this success.

The film is distributed in the U.S. by IFC Films, which doesn’t have a notable release pattern with any streaming service. However, fan interest clearly exists given the movie’s 7.4 IMDb rating, a 98% Fresh critical score, and a 93% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Hence, it is likely that a streaming platform will show interest in it soon as it has the potential to become a streaming hit. It could even make its way to a particular streaming platform sometime in 2023.

Directed by the Canadian filmmaker Matt Johnson, BlackBerry stars Jay Baruchel as Mike Lazaridis, Glenn Howerton as Jim Balsillie, Saul Rubinek as John Woodman, Cary Elwes as Carl Yankowski, Michael Ironside as Charles Purdy, Rich Sommer as Paul Stannos, and Michelle Giroux as Dara Frankel, with Johnson also appearing as Douglas Fregin.

Where is BlackBerry coming out online?

Currently, BlackBerry isn’t scheduled to release on any streaming service.

The movie is not streaming on any subscription service but can be rented or purchased on Amazon, Vudu, iTunes, and other platforms. The rental price is $19.99, and the purchase price is $24.99 on any of these platforms.

The official synopsis of BlackBerry reads:

“The story of the meteoric rise and catastrophic demise of the world’s first smartphone.”
