Transformers Terrorcons: Who Are They? And Full List of Members

The recently-released Transformers: Rise of the Beasts introduced the Terrorcons, a group of mighty warriors that came to Earth to hunt for the Transwarp Key. But who are they? And what’s their backstory? Here’s some information about the Terrorcons and their full list of members.

Who are the Terrorcons in Transformers?

The Terrorcons are the main antagonists in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

Sometimes improperly called “Teracons” or “Terracons,” the Terrorcons are Unicron’s enforcers sent to find the Transwarp Key and kill everyone in their master’s way. The Steven Caple Jr.-directed movie doesn’t reveal the Terrorcons’ origin, and, actually, it seems to have changed their backstory.

In the Transformers lore, The Terrorcons are a sub-group of Decepticons with monstrous appearances. They made their debut in the Transformers Generation 1 cartoon series, as well as the associated toy line. The original Terrorcons comprised five members: Hun-Gurrr, Blot, Cutthroat, Rippersnapper, and Sinnertwin. These Terrorcons can combine their forms to create Abominus, a fearsome and powerful combiner with immense strength and devastating attacks.

Full list of Terrorcons members

In their first live-action appearance, this is the Terrorcons lineup in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

  • Scourge (leader)
  • Battletrap
  • Nightbird
  • Freezer
  • Scorponok

Technically, only the Scourge, Battletrap, and Nightbird are sentient robots, while Freezer and Scorponok might be considered Predacons. Still, the story doesn’t distinguish between the two sub-groups, so, for simplicity’s sake, let’s take for granted they’re all Terrorcons. Rise of the Beasts will likely launch a new Transformers trilogy, which might expand the lore and add more details to the villains’ fascinating backgrounds. It would be interesting to see whether they’ll appear in the recently-teased Transformers x G.I. Joe crossover.

In Rise of the Beasts, Game of Thrones alum Peter Dinklage lends his voice to the Terrorcons’ leader, Scourge. Additionally, David Sobolov voices Battletrap and Michaela Jaé Rodriguez voices Nightbird.
