The Paramount Plus schedule for June 19-25 has been revealed. Here are the new TV shows and movies being added to the streaming service for the coming week.
On Sunday, June 25, Paramount Plus will release the first episode of The Gold. The series premiered earlier this year on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, and now Paramount Plus subscribers can watch it too. In six episodes, the series covers the 1983 Brink’s-Mat robbery, one of the largest and most audacious heists in British history. On November 26, 1983, a gang of armed robbers led by Micky McAvoy (Adam Nagaitis) broke into the Brink’s-Mat warehouse near London’s Heathrow Airport. They expected to find a large sum of cash but instead stumbled upon a vast amount of gold bullion and diamonds. The estimated value of the stolen goods was around £26 million (equivalent to over $125 million today).
The Brink’s-Mat heist remains one of the most infamous and significant crimes in British criminal history. It has been the subject of documentaries, books, and films, highlighting the audacity of the robbers and the subsequent investigation. The Gold stars Hugh Bonneville, Dominic Cooper, Charlotte Spencer, Jack Lowden, Tom Cullen, Emun Elliott, and Sean Harris, among others.
On Tuesday, June 20, Paramount Plus will also release the first episode of FBI True season 3. The series premiered on the streamer earlier this year, unveiling a new side of FBI agents’ world. The previous two seasons featured 10 installments each. The series is getting good results from fans and critics alike.
Next week, the streamer will also add Ex on the Beach season 5 and The Penguins of Madagascar to its content.
