One Piece: How Many Episodes and When Does It End?

One Piece is a monstrous show with an outrageous number of episodes. Here’s how many episodes there are currently, as well as information on when One Piece could end.

How many episodes are in One Piece?

One Piece has 1,064 episodes.

At the time of writing, One Piece has a whopping 1,064 episodes, spanning 20 seasons. With each episode lasting 22 minutes or longer, it would take over 390 hours to watch them all. Those hoping to go on a marathon session to catch up on them all will need to schedule over 16 days (without sleep).

Needless to say, One Piece has become a monster commitment for anyone hoping to join the fandom and catch up on all episodes. Thankfully, many of the episodes are “filler” and don’t add much to the overarching plot, and these can be skipped without issue. Of course, those who do manage to watch all of the episodes, will be able to get all subtle references included in upcoming installments.

When does One Piece end?

One Piece is expected to end in the 2030s.

As wild as it sounds, One Piece started in 1999, 14 years ago. With Luffy’s journey expected to last for another 600-1000 episodes, it’s easy to see how it could take until the 2030s before One Piece comes to an end.

It’s worth noting that nothing has been officially confirmed regarding a “One Piece end date” or anything like that. For now, the creators are simply focused on delivering compelling anime content to dedicated fans.

When it does eventually end, I’m sure its void will be felt amongst the anime community, whether they watch the show or not.

For more Crunchyroll content, here’s when Tower of God season 2 will be streaming. And here’s when the English dub of Demon Slayer season 3 is scheduled to release.
