God of War release date set for April

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Sony Santa Monica Studios have announced that the upcoming, and long-awaited, next entry in the God of War franchise will officially be released in just a few months! The God of War release date has been set for April 20. You can check out the new story trailer for the game in the player below and pre-order your own copy of God of War by clicking here.

Living as a man outside the shadow of the gods, Kratos must adapt to unfamiliar lands, unexpected threats, and a second chance at being a father. Together with his son Atreus, the pair will venture into the brutal Norse wilds and fight to fulfill a deeply personal quest.

In addition to the release of the core game on that date, three other editions for God of War have been announced, including:

Digital Deluxe Edition including the legendary Death’s Vow Armor Set to increase your strength, and honor the solemn promise that sends Kratos and Atreus on their journey through the Norse wilds of Midgard and beyond. The digital comic book from Dark Horse, Issue #0 starts to unearth the story of Kratos before his quest with Atreus begins. Not to mention both the digital comic and mini art book will come with exclusive creator commentary tracks. This edition will cost $69.99 USD.

Collector’s Edition including a 9’’ statue crafted by the development team in collaboration with Gentle Giant, a cloth map of the game, the Huldra Bros carvings pack, and more. This edition will cost $129.99 USD.

And the Stone Mason Edition which includes everything in the Collector’s Edition along with four very distinct, rare items directly from the game: Atreus’ wooden Horse and Troll carvings, the Huldra Bros. carvings, The Stone Mason Ring, and The talking Mimir Head keychain.
