Halo 5: Guardians Video Explains the Multiplayer REQ System

Halo 5: Guardians video explains changes to multiplayer mode

Microsoft and 343 Studios are set to make some changes to the multiplayer mode of the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians, some that might leave long-time fans scratching their heads. Fear not though, they’ve released a new video featuring the Nick Offerman-voiced “Mister Chief,” to explain the REQ system that sits at the heart of multiplayer mode, allowing players to customize their Spartans, their loadout, and even turn the tide of the battle. Check out the Halo 5: Guardias video below.

Launching this fall exclusively on Xbox One, Halo 5: Guardians continues the story of the Master Chief, and introduces a brand-new central character to the Halo universe – Spartan Locke (as seen in the live-action series “Halo: Nightfall”). Peace is shattered when colony worlds are unexpectedly attacked. And when humanity’s greatest hero goes missing, Spartan Locke is tasked with hunting the Master Chief and solving a mystery that threatens the entire galaxy.

Play as the Master Chief and Spartan Locke as the hunt plays out across three new worlds. Choose how to achieve objectives while playing solo with AI teammates or with friends in a 4-player cooperative experience. Also featuring new, massive-scale multiplayer mode that supports 24-player battles with both friendly and enemy AI dropping in. It’s non-stop action when you confront Spartans, Covenant, and Forerunners while trying to complete a variety of objectives.

Halo 5: Guardians will be released on Xbox One on October 27, 2015. You can pre-order your own copy by clicking here.
