Quake Remaster Out Now, Includes 4K Support and More Visual Upgrades

QuakeCon is taking place today and has some huge, surprise news to share out of it. On Thursday, Machine Games and id Software announced that a brand new, visually enhanced version of the original Quake is out now.

The original version of Quake is now available for players to pick up on a wide variety of platforms and features a completely overhauled look. Complete with 4K support, widescreen resolutions, enhanced models, dynamic lighting, anti-aliasing, depth of field, and a ton of other visual enhancements, this is now the definitive way to play Quake If you’re looking to dive into the iconic game.

Alongside the surprise release of the original Quake, Xbox Game Pass also announced that Quake, Quake II, and Quake III Arena have all been released on the subscription service, although both Quake II and Quake III are only available on Xbox Game Pass PC at the moment.

The original, upgraded Quake is now available on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
