Don’t Expect Another Uncharted Game After The Lost Legacy

Late last year, it was revealed that, despite the finality of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Naughty Dog would be bringing another Uncharted game to the world with Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

The upcoming title is the featured cover story on the latest issue of Game Informer, which you can check out below, and in their story, Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells insisted the developer isn’t planning an expansive Nathan Drake-free Uncharted franchise.

“I would say that Naughty Dog doing an Uncharted after this is unlikely. I would never say never, but we’ve got The Last of Us Part II on our plates and there’s so much other stuff that [we want to explore]. It’d be hard. If we magically had that two-team, three-team studio, sure – it’d be great to keep doing it. We really love the franchise, but the studio has limited resources and lots of other ideas. I’d say the likelihood is low.”

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is set to feature Chloe Frazer from Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception teaming up with Nadine Ross, one of the villains from Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. The pair team up in order to recover a fabled ancient Indian artifact and keep it out of the hands of a ruthless war profiteer. Together, they’ll venture deep into the mountains of India in search of the legendary artifact. Along the way, they’ll learn to work together to unearth the mystery of the artifact, fight their way through fierce opposition, and prevent the region from falling into chaos.

The title will be available as a standalone game on store shelves and for digital download. Players that already purchased the Uncharted 4 Digital Deluxe Edition or the Explorer’s Pack, will get Uncharted: The Lost Legacy as a download at launch.
