EA Teases Star Wars Battlefront Ahead of Star Wars Celebration

This year’s Star Wars Celebration is set to begin tomorrow and ahead of what will no doubt be a flurry of new announcements, EA and DICE have released a big teaser image for the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront which you can check out below. Be sure to return for further “Battlefront” announcements at Celebration as Lucasfilm previously confirmed the title would be present.

Little is known about the upcoming game, but developer DICE is using the Frostbite game engine which has been used in the latest “Battlefield” games.

“The scale of our maps and modes offer a great variety depending on the location,” Star Wars Battlefront Design Director Niklas Fegraeus previously said. “Hoth, where the Rebel Alliance fought off invading AT-ATs in snowy plains, will differ in size than the dense woodland of Endor….We have actually made the decision to specifically tailor certain maps to certain game modes and what we get from that is not only incredibly varied scales, but also gameplay that will allow players to live out some of their most memorable Star Wars battle fantasies.”

No official release date has been set for Star Wars Battlefront, but it has been revealed that the game will debut on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC at the end of this year.
