Marvel Rivals Reveals Map, Closed Alpha Registration Begins

NetEase Games’ upcoming team-based PVP shooter Marvel Rivals has a closed alpha in March, and fans can sign up now. The game also got a new trailer showcasing its Yggsgard map in the realm of Asgard.

Players who want to throw their hats in the ring can sign up using the Microsoft form. They’ll need to provide their email addresses and answer questions about what games they play and in what region they live. It’s also worth stressing that not everyone who signs up will get to play the Marvel Rivals closed alpha. Still, it’s an exciting opportunity for fans who like the idea of getting in on the ground floor.

Friday also saw NetEase release a new map reveal trailer for Marvel Rivals. The Yggsgard map features the white and gold halls and streets of Asgard standing beneath the towering branches of the colossal world tree. However, don’t let the clean streets and manicured trees fool you, as all is not well in the halls of the gods. Thor’s scheming brother Loki, god of mischief, has ceased the throne, his green and gold banners adorning the palace halls.

Yggsgard appears to be the same map featured in Marvel Rivals’ announcement trailer from March 27. It is one of at least two maps the game will feature at launch. The other map, so far only seen in screenshots, appears to be set in a futuristic Japanese city. Hopefully, fans will get a better look at it and any other maps before too much longer.
