SpongeBob Xbox Series X Console Revealed, Costs $699

Fans of 2023’s Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 can soon buy a limited-edition Xbox Series X console featuring SpongeBob SquarePants. However, the $699 console bundle is only available in limited numbers and for a limited time.

Xbox created the console in partnership with Paramount Game Studios, GameMill, and Best Buy. It is only available as a Drop on the Best Buy Mobile App on Android and iOS. The console isn’t much SpongeBob branded as it is SpongeBob coated, wrapped in a single graphic of an excited SpongeBob SquarePants. It comes with a controller featuring SpongeBob, Gary, Patrick, Squidward, Mr. Krabs, and Plankton, and a digital copy of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2.

New Xbox Series X consoles typically retail for about $500, while Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 MSRPs for $50. That means customers who buy the Xbox Series X bundle are paying almost $150 extra for the SpongeBob SquarePants imagery. While it’s not a great deal for someone who just wants to play the game, there are bound to be a few SpongeBob superfans who want to play games with their favorite Bikini Bottom resident.

The bundles go on sale at 8 AM Pacific/11 AM Eastern on Thursday, March 7. Xbox did not reveal how many bundles are available but says that supplies will be limited.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 was launched last November for PC and current and last-generation Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Its story mode sees SpongeBob and Patrick traveling through time to save the world from Danny Phantom villain Vlad Plasmius. The 2D platform fighting game features 25 playable characters from 17 Nickelodeon Franchises.
