Spider-Verse Game From Insomniac May Be in Development

It looks as though a Spider-Verse game could be in the works at Insomniac Games, according to leaked details from the company.

In case you missed it yesterday, a group of hackers revealed that they had obtained screenshots and information about upcoming Insomniac video games, as well as employee information (via Cyber Daily). Now, a Reddit thread (made by user sut345, who has since deleted the thread) has gone into how one of the screenshots seems to suggest that a game based on the Spider-Verse is in development.

The evidence to imply this includes a list of planned projects that was part of the leaked collage of images. The text seems to list Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (called Miles in the text), Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (written as SM2), Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 (called SM3), and a game called Spider-, with the rest cut off.

Then, in a document that seems to refer to an employee’s work, a line says “additional support for Spider-Verse.” Whether or not this refers to a new Spider-Verse game isn’t certain, but those two pieces of information suggest it is a possibility.

What villains appear in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the sequel to 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man and 2020’s Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Developed by Insomniac, the sequel features a variety of famous Spider-Man villains, including Kraven the Hunter and Venom — the latter of which was voiced by Candyman star Tony Todd.

The game is now available to purchase on the PlayStation 5.
