Horizon Forbidden West Expansion Apparently Teased by Lance Reddick

Guerrilla Games has updated Horizon Forbidden West more than a few times this year with features like New Game Plus and VRR support, but hasn’t announced anything more substantial. But according to actor Lance Reddick, it appears as though an expansion or big update is in the works.

As noted by Insider Gaming, Reddick, who plays the shifty Sylens in the series, tweeted that he was “in a session for #HorizonForbiddenWest!” Reddick also had little white dots on his face for facial performance capture. While the tweet was quickly deleted, users were able to not only grab a screenshot of the post, but also the short video attached to it, too, which sees Reddick wiggling his eyebrows and saying he was “hard at work.”

Wiping the tweet is a decent indication that it wasn’t supposed to go up, especially as Guerrilla has not announced its future plans for the game. It’s also possible that this was referring to something else in the Horizon universe (there is a television show on the way), but the specificity of the hashtag implies that it was related to the 2022 open-world game.

Guerrilla released an expansion to Horizon Zero Dawn called Frozen Wilds nine months after the base game. It unlocked a whole new area of the map and went into the story of the Banuk tribe and Gaia’s Hephaestus subsystem.

It’s possible that Guerrilla is doing the same for Forbidden West, and some are even thinking the DLC might be called Burning Shores because of certain entries in the game’s data points. Regardless, the studio has not confirmed anything as of yet.
