MultiVersus Open Beta Release Window Announced Alongside 3 New Characters

MultiVersus Open Beta Announced Alongside 3 New Characters

MultiVersus‘ roster just keeps growing. A new trailer not only welcomed in three new characters, but also gave a release window for its newly announced open beta.

The newest cinematic trailer for the free-to-play platform fighter reveals Tasmanian Devil (Looney Tunes), The Iron Giant (The Iron Giant), and Velma (Scooby-Doo) and will be voiced by Jim Cummings, Jonathan Lipow, and Kate Micucci, respectively. Cummings and Micucci have voiced those characters more than a few times in the past, but Lipow is new to the Iron Giant role as Vin Diesel voiced him in the titular 1999 film.

While the closed alpha is coming later this week, more users will be able to try the game out during its open beta. The beta will launch sometime in July, but Warner Bros. wasn’t too specific on when it will arrive during that month. It’s also not clear what characters or modes will be in the beta, but the publisher did announce that Taz and Velma would also be in the closed alpha, which obviously weren’t announced for it since they hadn’t been revealed yet. This brings the alpha roster up to 15.

The open beta will be on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC with full cross-play support and dedicated server-based rollback netcode. These are also the same platforms it will launch on, whenever that will be.
