The Callisto Protocol Details Will Be Revealed Soon

More The Callisto Protocol Details Will Be Revealed Soon

The Callisto Protocol surprised horror fans since it was coming from some of the same people who created the most beloved Dead Space games. It went dark after its December 2020 reveal, but it appears as though it’ll be popping up again rather soon.

Striking Distance Studios Founder and CEO Glen Schofield tweeted that the team will have more to share soon about the game. He also thanked fans for waiting and said he loved when the design starts to come together, which was accompanied by a picture of someone in a mocap suit. It’s unclear when “soon” is, but it’s possible the game will show up during the summer. While not a confirmation by any means, Geoff Keighley responded with an emoji, which could imply that the game might show up at Summer Games Fest. This would be a somewhat natural progression from its reveal at The Game Awards which Keighley also puts together.

Schofield is most known executive producing the original Dead Space when he was at Visceral Games and directing Call of Duty: WWII and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare during his stint at Sledgehammer Games. Even though The Callisto Protocol strangely takes place in the PUBG universe, it’s a horror game that calls back to his Dead Space roots. But since no gameplay footage has come out, it’s difficult to tell how close those ties will be.

The Callisto Protocol was announced well before the Dead Space remake when fans likely didn’t expect any Dead Space games. But now that the original Dead Space is coming back, The Callisto Protocol won’t have that space carved out just for itself.
