From the looks of the trailer, The House of the Dead: Remake won’t be straying too far from its original source. Gameplay, as well as the various monsters players encounter, all look familiar, albeit more modernized and not from hardware from the 1990s. According to Nintendo, the game will be “true to the original gameplay,” and will feature modern controls and multiple endings for those picking up the game in April. For those looking to pick up the game, pre-orders for The House of the Dead: Remake begins on March 31.

The House of the Dead started in Japan in 1996 before releasing in other territories a year later. Light gun shooters like this were popular in arcades at the time and very few have weathered the storm like The House of the Dead to continue on in some form to this day. The series also helped repopularize zombies in the late 1990s, something it did in tandem with Resident Evil.
