A new virtual reality drama based on the hit television series Peaky Blinders is on the way, with Peaker Blinders: The King’s Ransom set to launch in 2022. The game has only been confirmed for Quest platforms so far.

The VR experience, produced by digital entertainment studio Maze Theory, known for its Doctor Who games, and global distributor Banijay, will allow players to enter the underground world of the TV series, and will also see stars Cillian Murphy and Paul Anderson appear in the game as their characters Tommy Shelby and Arthur Shelby, respectively.

Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom is described as “an authentic, embodied experience set in an atmospheric 1920s England.” The VR title will let players choose their own path in various moments of “subversion, wish fulfillment, narrative intrigue, and gripping set pieces.”

“At Maze Theory, we’re committed to pushing the boundaries of entertainment and creating highly innovative fan and gaming experiences,” said Ian Hambleton, CEO of Maze Theory. “We’re very excited to be giving fans and VR enthusiasts access to the Peaky Blinders’ world, transporting them back to 1920s Birmingham and putting them in iconic locations such as The Garrison and Charlie’s Yard.”
There’s no official word on when the title would be releasing was revealed as of yet, so fans of the show looking forward to this will have to be a bit more patient until more is announced during the year.
