Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl May Be Getting Voice Acting, Crossplay Coming Soon

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl was heavily criticized for its lack of voice acting, which seemed bizarre for a game made up of iconic characters. However, it seems as though the game might be finding its voice some time in the future as a developer for the game recently hinted that the platform fighter may not be staying silent for much longer.

Fair Play Labs’ Leo “Deusmoon” Argüello posted a developer update on Reddit that gave such details. In it, he gave a cheeky nod that seemed to imply that the game is about to get less quiet.

“We’ve been HEARING your requests, and we’ll make sure you’ll be HEARING from us soon,” he said.

Putting an all-caps emphasis on “hearing” does point to voice acting, especially since it has been a heavily requested feature. Of course, this is not a confirmation, but it seems like a likely candidate, given the context. Ludosity CEO Joel Nyström also said in an interview with Game Informer in September that the team would be “reviewing all options” and those options “may include adding VO down the road.” He also stressed that Ludosity focused on “creating the best possible gameplay experience” and that adding voice acting was “not as straightforward to do as one might think.”

The Reddit post also contained a few smaller updates. Deusmoon stated that the latest free DLC fighter would be added “pretty soon” and that the team was currently working on a “bunch” of characters and stages. Crossplay, another highly requested feature, is also slated for Q1 2022.
