Far Cry 6's Vaas-Centric DLC Gets Release Date

Far Cry 6’s Vaas-Centric DLC Gets Release Date

Far Cry 6 only released in October but it is already about to get its first piece of DLC. Ubisoft revealed that the Far Cry 6 Vaas: Insanity DLC release date is quite soon and will be on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and PC on November 16. It is the first big part of the $39.99 season pass. An individual price has not yet been set. We’ve reached out to Ubisoft and will update the article if we get a response.

Vaas: Insanity lets players control the titular Vaas, the iconic villain from Far Cry 3. Michael Mando of Better Call Saul fame will be reprising his role. And while it will use Far Cry 6 as a base, this expansion dabbles in the roguelite genre, meaning it is a run-based shooter with procedural elements. Players start with only a pistol and have to find weapons and power-ups to get strong enough and “progress deeper into the depths of Vaas’ psyche.” This DLC is also supposed to give players more of a background on Vaas, something that was missing in his Far Cry 3 debut. Trophies for the expansion have also already been patched into the game and are mainly centered around collectibles, unlocking items, and making progress.

This is just one part of the game’s season pass. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Classic Edition is slated for December, which is a port of the 2012 ’80s-themed spin-off starring Michael Biehn. Far Cry 4 antagonist Pagan Min is also getting his own episode called Pagan: Control and that is scheduled for a January 2022 release. And the final episode around Far Cry 5‘s bad guy Joseph Seed called Joseph: Collapse will round out the season pass with its March 2022 release window. However, there will be a bunch of free content peppered around these premium releases, too, which includes three missions that cross over with Rambo, Stranger Things, and actor Danny Trejo, the latter of which was accidentally patched into the game early before being removed.
