Even sports games are not immune to delays as Electronic Arts has pushed back the release date to its upcoming golf game EA Sports PGA Tour. The publisher will reveal more in the future as EA gave no new specific release date or window.

“Hey golf fans,” reads a message posted to Twitter by the official account of the game. “We wanted to let you know that we are shifting the launch date of EA Sports PGA Tour. We’re excited to bring championship golf to you and will be providing more information on our launch plans in the coming months.”

The title was first revealed earlier this year and initially scheduled for a spring 2022 release. The game was set to be Electronic Arts’ first dive back into the world of video game golf since 2015’s Rory McIllroy PGA Tour. Since the announcement of the game, not too much has been shown of it, with the only information being that players will be able to create their own golfers and that they will not be able to play as Tiger Woods, due to Woods having a new, exclusive deal with 2K and the PGA Tour 2K21 series of games.

With no release date set now, EA Sports is likely polishing the title, adding new features, or trying to get it back on track, which is a possibility given that EA Tiburon was also in charge of the last two NBA Live games that were both canceled.
